2010 CHARLEROI FEDERAL LITTLE GREAT RACE SCHOLARSHIP WINNER

The Adam Boyd Scholarship

Adam Joseph Boyd was born on December 11, 1989 and died on January 8, 2004. Although he lived such a short life, he touched many lives.

Adam was a reader and a thinker. He was a good student and loved to learn. His favorite activity was the Renaissance Festival and had a passion for anything "medieval" in nature. Adam was a big fan of the "Lord of the Rings" book and movie series, as well as, Harry Potter.

Although his prognosis after being diagnosed with Stage IV Neuroblastoma on December 15, 1999 was very poor, he continued to embrace life for the next four years and did not lose his will to live until shortly before he died.

He would be truly honored that this scholarship opportunity exists because of the passion for learning and will to live that he demonstrated during his life. To Adam, learning was living.
